Set up your Fablr link as a storyteller

Open your setup link, record right away, and choose whether to add SMS reminders.

You can start recording without a Fablr account. If you want reminder texts, enter your own mobile number, turn on the SMS terms, and confirm the one-time code. You decide whether reminders are on or off, and you can stop them later by replying STOP.

Who this is for

You opened a Fablr setup link and are deciding whether to add SMS reminders.

Before you start

  • You don't need a Fablr account to record.
  • No reminder texts go out until you enter and verify your own mobile number and accept the SMS terms.
  • Reminder texts work only with a US or Canada mobile number; you can still record without one.
  • The person who invited you cannot consent to SMS for you.

What to do next

  1. Open the private recording link from your invitation email to record right away. Reminder texts are set up on a separate SMS setup link that the person who invited you can open or share from their Fablr profile once that email has been sent.
  2. On the SMS setup link, choose Continue without texts, or enter your own US or Canada mobile number to add reminders.
  3. To add reminders, turn on the SMS terms and press Send verification code.
  4. Enter the one-time code on the setup page to finish. If the text message itself says you can reply YES instead, that works too; otherwise, only the code completes verification.
  5. Later, reply STOP to stop receiving texts.

How you know it worked

You can record, and reminders are on only if you turned them on and verified your number, or off if you skipped them.

If something goes wrong

The link says it expired.

Ask the person who invited you to refresh or resend the setup link.

You'd rather not get texts.

Choose Continue without texts; you can still record and add reminders later if you change your mind.
