Edit a story

Open your biography, choose a chapter, and save the version you want.

Open your biography and choose the chapter you want to change. Use Text editor for exact wording changes, Voice edit when that control is available, and Answer story details when Fablr needs more detail.

Who this is for

Storytellers and account owners reviewing written stories.

Before you start

  • Sign in as the account owner and open a biography chapter you own.
  • Make story edits before compiling because the current compiled-book flow is limited.
  • Read the current story once before editing so you know what should change.

What to do next

  1. Open your biography.
  2. Choose the chapter you want to review.
  3. Select Text editor to edit the chapter title or chapter content.
  4. Make your changes, then select Save changes.
  5. If the page shows Answer story details, open it and answer the follow-up prompts.
  6. Use Version history if you need to review earlier saved versions.

What you should see

Fablr biography table of contents showing chapters that can be opened for review.
Open a chapter from your biography.
Fablr chapter page showing Text editor, Voice edit, Answer story details, and Version history controls.
Use the chapter edit controls before preparing the book.

How you know it worked

The story chapter reloads with the updated title or text. In the editor, the status can show Saved at..., and the manual save returns you to the updated chapter content.

If something goes wrong

You cannot find the story.

Open Library to check your story list and in-progress sections.

The editor could not save.

Keep the page open and use Save changes again when the connection is working.

You moved the wrong chapter to trash.

Use Recently deleted from the biography page within the restore window shown there.
